The Casual Optimist, a blog about books, publishing and ideas, has just featured an interview with designer
Ellen Lupton. It's very interesting, and notable for the fact that Lupton founded a small independent press in order to publish a novel called
Sexy Librarian by Julia West. It has a very clever cover design by
Kristian Bjornard.

The making of the book is also the basis for a book written by Lupton:
Indie Publishing.

The novel's
website is intriguing as well as oddly elliptical, but it's given me the desire to get hold of a copy--as it's a POD book, though, I'm not sure whether my normal
dealers bookshops will be able to get it. We'll see.
