The Covers of Ralph Steadman [Massive Update]

In 2008 I featured a look at some of the many book covers by the great, savage cartoonist Ralph Steadman. Now, thanks to contributions from collector David C Smith, who provuided the bulk of the images below, here is a much bigger selection of Steadman's cover work.

I think that's 72 92 covers, which is a fun bit of uploading when Blooger keeps going demented and losing your uploads halfway through. Thanks again to David Smith!

Does Paranoids count?

Ooh, nice one!

There's going to be a follow-up post with more Steadmans soon--Paranoids is definitely going into it.

Bravo! That's some update.

(I love how Thomson's Shark Hunt's cover illustration looks "steadmanesque", while featuring just Steadman's handwriting and no drawing)

Beautiful, but I can't believe that Minite's by Randolph Stow was drawn by Steadman.......

Slightly embarrassingly, you are correct! I've put in the actual Steadman cover for Midnite... Sorry about that!
