A Batch of Things

A mixed batch of book cover things today...

  • Upcoming Penguin Gtraphic Classics, wherein comics folk redesign Penguin Classics, include Richard Sala doing Dickens, and Killoffer doing Marx and Engels.

Sala usually specialises in engaging comedy-horror featuring strange apparitions, sexy catburglars and barefoot indie girls, inflected by German Expressionism...
..while Patrice Killoffer offers more brutal, experimental work.
  •  And another site I can't believe I've never raved about: Odd Books, by Alfred Armstrong. Here are some of the delights awaiting you there...

DOES THE EARTH ROTATE? NO! That looks like a charming example of homespun alternative science!

It's the emphatic nature of the capital letters and exclamation mark in the answer that really convinces, I think.

I've been trying to increase my bust size for the last ten minutes with the power of my mind, but it hasn't worked yet.

Maybe that's because I need a copy of the book.

Hmmm, my wife just walked in on me as I was typing this. She asked me what I was doing and I explained. She looked at me for a second, went back to the kitchen and now I can hear sobbing.

"AND NOW IT'S... NAIL TIME" = genius.

And in happier news, those Killoffer covers are wonderful. Will investigate further.
