The New Book from Pan Macmillan That Copied the Slightly Older Book From Hesperus

Let's start the new year with a copycat cover.

Major publishing companies pass on a quirky title about a misbehaving old man translated from the Swedish, but it turns out to be a surprise hit for the admirable Hesperus Press:



Major publishing company (Pan Macmillan) quickly decides they want some of that lovely cash, buys rights to another quirky title about a growing old disgracefully, translated from the Swedish, copies cover of hit Hesperus book.


To be fair, purple and blue are different colours.

Right; but in this particular case, blue is definitely a warmer color.

Um, purple is completely different and obviously better.

(by the way, the "please prove you're not a robot" is asking me to write out a 3-digit number, followed by an 8-digit number... only a bit ridiculous!)

I took a look at Jonasson's book when I was passing through the Warsaw airport this summer. Loved the idea and the little that I read.
