The paperback of Stuart Evers' rather good Ten Stories About Smoking is not a patch on the boxed first edition. Its cover image has also now been reused, with a bit of Photoshoppery to transplant the fuming young woman from bed to beach, on a new Australian novel.

Smoking in Bed is also the name of a (fine) book by Bruce Robinson, but the author's photo that dominates the cover does not feature a cigarette.
'Smoking in Bed' is a great book. Depressing, too, in seeing how so many of his films got mangled, but very interesting.
The designers missed a trick on the redone cover of Ten Stories About Smoking - had they used '10' instead of 'Ten', and adjusted the text carefully they would've made a perfect line/zigzag of nice round O's. Which, being as Evers uses the same hole-like symbol to divide passages within each story (like cigarette burns perhaps?) would have been kind of appropriate, and might have made a fairly dull cover just a touch more interesting. Only a touch though.
That's a really good design solution--it would have improved the cover 10-fold.
