A quick update to the remarkable
conjoined Evan S. Conell Mrs Bridge and Mr Bridge books: I stole these pictures from the Twitter feed of book producer
Ilaria Rovera, who made the lovely design work of Thomas Heatherwick and Claire Mason a physical reality.

Wow! Love the idea of ths... But as a library assistant I quail at the thought of hw to shelve 'em!
I want this book! How can I get a copy of this? =P
Biro, I know what you mean--I don't know where in the bookshelves I would fit this.
Squid Kid: The ISBN is 978-0141391557, so you should be able to order it from the usual places. Order one for me, too!
Heatherwick is all over the BBC this week -- Start the Week, Saturday Review, for all I know the Food Programme -- as the result of a major retrospective of his work at the V&A....
Praise for his vision and criticism for his occasional anvil-weight whimsy.
This falls into the latter for me, I'm afraid. "Book as object" to me always begins with function -- and a book design that only looks good on a table someplace leaves me a bit cold. Also the typeface design on the cover looks like some kind of zippy comic sans.
