A quick update to the remarkable conjoined Evan S. Conell Mrs Bridge and Mr Bridge books: I stole these pictures from the Twitter feed of book producer Ilaria Rovera, who made the lovely design work of Thomas Heatherwick and Claire Mason a physical reality.

Praise for his vision and criticism for his occasional anvil-weight whimsy.

This falls into the latter for me, I'm afraid. "Book as object" to me always begins with function -- and a book design that only looks good on a table someplace leaves me a bit cold. Also the typeface design on the cover looks like some kind of zippy comic sans.; 11 June 2012 at 11:31
