A recent discovery is the work of London-based illustrator and designer Alice Stevenson, who I discover is a number of years younger than me, and annoyingly talented. She does a lot of work involving hand-drawn type and illustration for a number of different publishers. Here is a selection of her work, starting with my favourite, a beautiful and malevolent Amélie Nothomb cover.

Beautiful stuff. Love that Untimely Death cover—lustig meets Bass for sure. Yes, annoyingly so, they make em younger and younger. And the market is ripe for illustrated covers right now—so lucky on two accounts.
the first ones look so different. but i do love teh patterns, beautiful design!
amazing stuff! in Italy we don't have such beautiful and artistic book covers...
