Olives

These may be new to nobody but me, but it seems that every year for the past three years, HarperPernennial US has released three limited-edition books as 'Olive Editions', with beautifully simple and attractive covers. Here they are in roughly reverse order of publication. The first three were desgned and illustrated by Milan Bozic; I assume the same goes for the other six.

    I have the Kundera and the Chabon but always seem to miss getting the other ones. I think they're all lovely. I've been trying to find a copy of the Foer for about a year but it's I can't find it anywhere

    I think the Foer (and the two you have) are now out of print--Harper no longer have them in their catalogue, unfortunately. None of them ever made it to Australia, which is why i was so slow to spot them.

    I have to disapprove of the Pynchon one: that bugle (?) should be stoppered, for "tacit lies the gold once-knotted horn".

    I agree that the covers are great, unfortunately the typeface of the text is so awful, they are virtually unreadable books. I got two but have vowed never to buy another, despite the great covers

    I was going to say what Anonymous said - the typeset is unbearable. Nobody should ever have to read that.

    Their Eyes Were Watching God cover is excellent.
