Love the Penguin Food covers, the repetition motif reminds me of what they did for their classic boardback series (the ones presumable designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith) with a more grungy, wallpaper-like twist.
The new (RED) cover may be my favorite in that series. I like that the paint effect is also applied to the red banner at the bottom, and the washed out penguin logo in the bottom right corner is an interesting detail. Thanks for finding these!
Like the Chekhov cover. I see on Amazon that Penguin is releasing some new Deluxe Graphic editions. Has anyone seen the new designs? I haven't been able to find them.
I love the Penguin Food series covers - they manage to look both very 1930s and contemporary at the same time.
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by to say hii;)

ReplyDeleteLovin these new penguins and that new RED cover. All of the REDs are stellar on all counts.
Cheers for your comments, all. And Ian, that animated book cover is... unique? I think that's the word I'm looking for.

ReplyDeleteI've found a couple of the covers, such as 'Great Expectations' and 'The Communist Manifesto'. I'll post them in the next couple of days.
