It was an overtly sleazy novel exploiting the racial riots of the period. The author was Ed Wood, and I wondered if this was the notorious filmmaker; I knew that he had published some books, but the name was a common one.<br /><br />So, I opened the book at random. I immediately came upon a reference to angora sweaters. I chose another page at random. There was another reference to angora sweaters. I knew then that it was the real Wood. <br /><br />I bought the book for 35 cents, and later sold it for fifty dollars.
